CURLSASK Welcomes Lauren Speidel as Youth Programming Assistant
CURLSASK is excited to welcome Lauren Speidel to the team as Youth Programming Assistant for the summer of 2026.
Lauren is a third-year student at the University of Regina, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Marketing. Throughout the summer, Lauren will be supporting CURLSASK’s youth programming initiatives, with a primary focus on planning and delivering the organization’s annual summer curling camp.
A passionate curler, Lauren brings a wealth of experience to the role. She has competed at the U18 and U20 levels for the past five years, capturing a U18 Provincial Championship during the 2023-24 season. She also competes with the University of Regina Cougars curling program, helping the team win a CanWest Championship and earn a fourth-place finish at the U SPORTS National Championships during her first two years of university.
“I am so excited to join the CURLSASK team for the summer and organize a super fun camp!” said Lauren. “I am looking forward to bringing my creative ideas and love for the game to the next generation of curlers across the province!”
Lauren is eager to stay involved in the curling community during the summer off-season and is looking forward to helping create memorable experiences for young curlers from across Saskatchewan.
“We are excited to welcome Lauren to the CURLSASK team this summer,” said Steve Turner, Executive Director of CURLSASK. “Her competitive curling background, enthusiasm for the sport, and commitment to creating positive experiences for young athletes make her an excellent addition to our team. We are looking forward to the ideas and energy she will bring as we prepare for another successful summer camp.”
When she is not at the curling rink, Lauren enjoys participating in community theatre, crocheting, camping, spending time outdoors, and making memories with family and friends.
