Pivotal Youth Competitions set for Regina

The U15 & U18 Provincials is headed to the provincial capital.

The 2022/23 U15 & U18 Provincial Championships will be contested at the Callie Curling Club in Regina, December 28-30,  it was announced today by CURLSASK.

“We are ecstatic to be hosting two pivotal youth competitions in Regina at the end of 2022!” said Dustin Mikush, CURLSASK Development Coordinator. “While crowning our U18 Provincial Champions, we look forward to hosting the inaugural U15 Provincials at the same time. The provincials are going to be a memorable experience for our next generation, along with providing a tremendous opportunity for them to meet curlers from across the province. We also believe the U15 Provincials will be crucial in developing our young athletes by having them rotate each position every two ends.”

For the U15 Provincials, CURLSASK will debut the inaugural provincials with the Triples discipline. Teams of three can compete together with any combination of gender. More information on the Triples format can be found by clicking here.

Each player must be 14 years of age or under as of June 30, 2022 (born July 1, 2007 or later).

As many U18 teams are gearing up for the upcoming Saskatchewan Winter Games, the U18 Championships will allow teams to play competitive games early in the season.

Each player must be 17 years of age or under as of June 30, 2022 (born July 1, 2004 or later).

The Boys and Girls winner of the U18 Championships will represent Saskatchewan at the 2023 U18 Nationals in Timmins, O.N., Feb. 6-11.
