How It Started

Following the Curling Canada Business of Curling Symposium in Canmore this past June. CURLSASK Staff & Board Members in attendance gathered and expressed a need in local curling clubs to fill their membership with the 25-40 age categories!

CURLSASK then partnered with Learn to Curl Program Consultant Anna Keller, contracted by Curling Canada, to run a “Train The Trainer” Session up at the Saskatoon Sutherland Curling Club, where we saw 32 eager curling enthusiasts who took in our course!

They will now head back to their own curling clubs and launch their own adult learn to curl program with material learned.

CURLSASK has now partnered with Goldline & Original 16 to bring these unique programs to five curling clubs here in Saskatchewan! We will pilot these five programs as a conclusion to this new initiative, where we will then look to host Anna again in the New Year, and bring on five more clubs to give it a try this curling season!

About Our Partners

Great Western Brewing

“Original 16 is a true Prairie success story. Almost 30 years ago, after being told their Saskatoon brewery was to be closed by Molson, 16 bold and determined employees stood up and pooled their resources. They founded the Great Western Brewing Company. These “Original 16” underdogs risked it all, for beer. In an industry of Goliaths, they were David. Competing against more experience and more resources, they brewed on. Original 16 has now become a part of the Western Canadian character. Original 16 uses only the finest ingredients to brew beer – starting with 100% Saskatchewan barley. The smoothness and full-bodied flavour come from a double-aging process – you simply cannot rush great beer. ” More information about Original 16 can be found at

Goldine Curling Supplies

Goldline Curling has a long history of serving the curling community, dating all the way back to 1967 when it was first started by our founder, Ed Flowers.

In the time since then Goldline has passed through the family tree, with Ed’s son Doug running the company for many years and transforming it into the leading supplier of curling equipment in the world. In 2018 Doug passed the torch to his daughter Erin and her business partners Pete Townshend and Andrew Brett.

A passion for curling runs through the veins of our ownership group. We’re all curlers ourselves, and whenever possible we hire curlers to work with us. We are obsessed with developing the absolute best curling equipment you can find anywhere on the planet. More information about Goldine can be found at
