What are you looking for in a team? Competitive Junior Men’s

Years Curled & Accomplishments Along the Way: I just finished my 9th year of curling. I have won the MVSD Middle School Divisionals in 2016. As a lead, I got the chance to compete in the 2017 Sun Life Financial Junior Challenge in Brandon, MB as well as the 2018 Manitoba Winter Games. In January 2019, I skipped my team to the Canola Growers Manitoba Junior Mens Provincials, to the 2019 MHSAA Men’s Highschool Provincials and to the 2019 Asham U18 Manitoba Men’s Provincials. This past season I played third and earned a berth to the 2020 Junior Men’s Provincials in my hometown of Dauphin, MB. I attended the Curl Manitona High Performance program operated by Connie Laliberte for three years in a row and I have been a competitor in the Manitoba Junior Curling Tour for the past three years.

Bio of Myself: I grew up in Dauphin, MB and have lived there my entire life. Baseball and Curling are a huge part of my life. I am a certified Level 2 Baseball Canada Umpire. NCCP certified baseball coach and I am going into Kinesiology and Sport Management program at the University of Regina in the Fall of 2020. I have been competing at the provincial level in curling since 2016 and want to continue to compete at that level once I move to Regina. I am interested in finding a competitive curling team who is serious about curling and want to compete at a provincial level. I plan to take a reduced course load at the University in order to compete. I do not turn 18 until October 2020 and I am looking for a Junior Men’s curling team to join.

Years Curled & Accomplishments Along the Way: I have curled for 7 years. The past four years, I have curled out of the Okotoks Curling Club coached by Atina Ford-Johnston. I have attended the Alberta Rocks curling camp for the past 3 years which furthered and refined my curling skills. I volunteered at the beginning curlers at the Okotoks Curling Club. I volunteered at the Academy of Curling with Russ Howard on the new curler night and then my team was coached by Russ Howard in the one-on-one team clinic. For the past 3 years I assisted my PE teachers during the curling portion of the school’s gym program. I have won some small town bonspiels.

Bio of Myself: I grew up in High River, AB and have been in French Immersion since kindergarten. I was accepted into the Paul J. Hill School of Business. I received four scholarships: The Town of High River Scholarship for Academic Achievement, Character Development & Leadership, Delanoy and Co. Accountants Achievement Award Scholarship, Faculty of Business’ Administration Excellence Program Entrance Scholarship and University of Regina out of Province Entrance Scholarship. I chose the University of Regina so that I could continue my studies and continue to learn more about the game of curling. I take direction well, I am a strong sweeper and want to play the game at a high level. I think it’s interesting how each end of curling is different and that’s what makes strategy so important; something I want to continue to learn about. I also find the balance between the physical and mental side of curling interesting. I also like skiing, golfing & photography.

Other Comments: I have my own vehicle and can drive myself to the rink.
