CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP TEAMS MAY BE ASKED TO FILL OUT THE SPIEL IF THERE IS A SHORTAGE OF SENIOR/MASTER TEAMS

ENTRY DEADLINE WILL BE January 20, 2023 AT 12:00 NOON – ALL ENTRIES MUST BE PAID IN FULL – CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP TEAMS WILL BE SELECTED (COMMITTEE APPROVAL) TO FILL OUT THE REMAINING TEAMS AFTER THIS DATE.

–          Entry fee $450 per team – MAX 16 teams – Age Eligibility- Players must be eligible to play Senior Playdowns in the 2023 season. (Club championship teams excluded)

–          Total purse $6000 (BASED ON FULL ENTRIES)

–          Guaranteed 4 games max 5 games.  3 round robin games, 1 or 2 championship games

–          Draw times are Fri 9pm, Sat 10 am, Sat 2 pm, Sun 9:30 am, Sun 1 pm.

–          Lunch will provided after the second game Saturday

–          4 pools of 4 teams will be seeded.

–          $50 pay per win per round robin game

–          After 3 round robin games each team will be put into events as per standings in their pool.

1st in each pool goes to “A” event

2nd in each pool goes to “B” event

3rd in each pool goes to “C” event

4th in each pool goes to “D” event

–          Payouts per event win as noted on draw

–          Before each game each team will have practice and draw to the button for hammer.  30 minutes before the draw teams must do a coin toss. Winner of the coin toss may choose color or first or second practice. First Practice will commence 20m minutes before the draw and second practice will commence 10 minutes before the draw. First practice at the Friday 9pm draw will start when the ice is ready. Each team practice consists of each player being allowed to throw 1 practice rock down and 1 rock back.  You have 10 MINUTES to complete practice and Draws for hammer.  After practice each team will throw 1 draw to the button to determine hammer.  First practice will choose whether they throw their draw for hammer clock wise or counter clock wise. The team practicing second must throw the opposite on their draw for hammer. Each draw must be measured and recorded in inches please.  Pin is 0, miss the house is 72. During 1st practice if the team covers the pin or misses the house, a 2nd player must throw the draw again. The total distance for your teams 3 game hammer draws to the button in round robin play will be used for tie breaking/seeding purposes if games for and against do not break the ties.  Also the top team in each division based on draw to the button totals will receive a free round of drinks on Sat.

SWEEPING/BROOM RULES

–          WE WILL NOW BE USING THE BROOM RULES FOR CANADA CURLING CHAMPIONSHIPS.  All sweepers must be sweeping with the conforming fabric heads.  (Mustard Yellow Pads Numbered)

–          Any concerns about players abusing these rules must be brought to Kory and he will deal with the situation.  You may not confront teams on the ice during the game.
