Savanna Taylor named CURLSASK Summer Programs Coordinator!

 

Steve Turner, Executive Director of CURLSASK is thrilled to announce Savanna Taylor will be assuming the role of CURLSASK Summer Program Coordinator! Savanna assumed the position on June 12, 2023. 

This position will be vital to our Youth Programs, such as our Viterra Youth Camps & Clinics, Viterra Blizzard Program, Hit Draw Tap program, as well as our Viterra Prairieland Summer Camp happening this August. She will also seek to develop new ways of creating diversity, equity, and inclusivity within our sport and organization. Savanna will also be tasked with developing specific programming for Indigenous and Northern populations including Youth Programs, coach development and adult learn to curl programs. 

Savanna is a student at the University of Saskatchewan taking her Bachelor of Commerce. She is also a former U18 Champion and most recently represented Western Canada at the 2023 NJCT Mixed Doubles World Championship in Sweden this past April.

“I am so excited to be working with the team at CURLSASK for the summer,” said Savanna, “I am looking forward to combining my competitive curling experience and passion for junior curling in the province to deliver a curling camp experience that will be the highlight of the summer for youth from all over Saskatchewan!” 

“Already a fierce competitor, Savanna is going to bring that same passion to our summer programs this season” said CURLSASK Executive Director, Steve Turner. “As a past camper, she shared with us the importance of the camp for not only her development as an athlete, but the friends and teammates she met along the way. Now she’s hoping to pass this on to the next generation of curlers. We’re thrilled to have Savanna join us this summer!”
