Team SK Blog #4 ~ Canadian Junior Curling Championships

Team SK Men

Tuesday was a big day for Team Sask. as we went 2-0 with victories over NWT and NFLD securing the #1 rank amongst all championship pool teams.

We now play the top 4 teams from the other pool. Our record will follow us over and the top 3 teams will make playoffs. Once again we would like to thank our parents for all of the support throughout this week.

Team SK Women

This morning we played Newfoundland/Labrador in the Langley Curling Centre. Not the game we planned on but buried it and onto the next one. We each had some family time and a rest and got ready for the evening game against Ontario. It was a nail biter to the end, tied up coming home without hammer but couldn’t quite pull it off.

So we finished the Pool at 4-2 and we move on to the Championship round! There we will play the top four teams from the second Pool.

Back to the hotel for a good night sleep for the team… but the parents were off to the Parent Night for food, bevies and entertainment! Sounds like Saskatchewan parents had a pretty good time.

Championship Round! The morning and afternoon were free so we decided to go cheer on Team Saskatchewan Men vs Prince Edward Island for their afternoon game. It was a great game and we had a lot of fun with our families and friends as we cheered on Saskatchewan! Congrats on another win guys!

We headed back to the hotel for a great homemade meal, thanks moms! Then we headed back to the George Preston Recreation Centre for Game 1 vs Quebec. We battled and had some nice ends set up but Quebec was hot and their skipper made a beauty run back and picked up a big end.

Tomorrow is a big day with two games. We will be on the Curling Canada streamed sheet for our 9 am game vs Manitoba!
