Team SK Blog #2 ~ Canadian Curling Club Championships

Team SK Men

Make it back-to-back wins for Aaron Gaudreau and teams, as they pick up victories over Northern Ontario (3-2) & New Brunswick (9-6). They are now even at two and still in the running at making the Championship Pool.

“The game this afternoon was won on a draw to the button by Aaron, a great rebound win for us. We then picked up another big win. Aaron is looking really good as it was a big team win. We hold our destiny in our own hands. Tune into our live streamed game tomorrow afternoon (1:30 p.m. SK Time) as we take on Team Alberta! – Tom Johnson, Team Sask Second

Team SK Women

A tough loss for Team Saskatchewan this afternoon to the Yukon, after winning their first three! The ladies are still sitting in great shape as they look to advance into the Championship Pool. They will have the morning off tomorrow as they gear up for a 5:30 p.m. (SK Time) match-up against Team New Brunswick, followed by an all important game against Team Quebec who also sits at 3-1 heading into Draw 9.

“Both teams got the opportunity to break in the arena ice for the Canada Cup in the Sobey’s Arena before the event started. It was a pretty cool experience when the head ice maker said it will be 12.5 for your first rock, three more rocks and you will be up to speed! He was right!!! i underestimated the amount of curl. The ice in the rink has been really quick, pretty good conditions which has been fun to play on. Our team has to win one more game to secure our spot into the playoffs.” – Callie Benko, Team Saskatchewan Lead
