Team SK Final Blog

Good day Saskatchewan Curling fans.
What a tough day we had yesterday. All the stars had seemed to align and we had managed to put ourself in a position that if we won our last game against Manitoba in the Championship Pool we would get a direct buy to the Semi-final.
Up 5-2 after 5 ends and looks were looking good. Unfortunately the train came off the tracks. I tell ya, this 5 rock rule is such a difficult beast especially to defend when you have a lead. We unfortunately were not able to hang onto that lead and lost in an extra end.
Pretty rough for our squad as we came into this event with some fairly high goal demand expectations so losing out has been a tough pill for all 4 of us to swallow.
With that being said I’d like to say just how proud we were to represent Saskatchewan. I’m sure many of you reading this have also had the opportunity to wear the green and white and for the others your time maybe coming soon. It is such a privilege to be able to compete on a National stage with the support of your province and provincial Curling association behind ya.
It’s been our privilege to attend this event and falling short of our goals only makes us want to return in the future.
To all the fans who send us messages, texts, emails and Facebook comments we appreciate it.
