Team SK Blog #6 ~ Scotties Tournament of Hearts

Team SK Blog #6

We had a nice day. We all slept in and some girls hung out with family in the morning then we started preparing for this afternoon’s game.

We were excited for today’s game and also enjoyed meeting some local curlers. The future stars program has local junior curlers come down to ice level and they get to hang out with us before the game and during our pre game practice. It is awesome to see the excitement in them meeting the teams and getting bagpiped in with the teams for the pre game ceremony. Three farmers graciously donated snacks for us to give away, so we hooked up the future stars with some snacks and lanyards.

Our game went good, we were calling and throwing with confidence and making lots of great shots. Another win is great to keep us in the pack for playoffs.

No shortage of green in the stands, as the proud SK cheering squad poses for a picture with the team during family dinner.

Robyn and Stef had an up close and personal conversation at the Heartstop then we headed out for a nice dinner with all 25 of our fans that made the long trek from the prairies! We had a fabulous dinner and are so very thankful for all our team sponsors. Con-Tech general builders Ltd. wanted to support our team and fans and bought us all dinner. It was a wonderful evening.
We are grateful to have so much support to help us follow our dreams!

We have two big games tomorrow and the top 4 from each pool head on to the championship pool Thursday and Friday. With a short round robin lots can happen on the last day.

We play Wednesday morning at 7:30am vs Yukon then 5:30pm vs PEI – SK time.
