Playoffs Are Set at Viterra Scotties Women's Provincial Championship

Silvernagle & Anderson Meet in 1 vs. 2 Playoff Game

Wow! What an evening of curling we had on our hands at the Humboldt Curling Club, as the final draw at the Viterra Scotties Women’s Provincial Championship concluded tonight!

It will be the first time in the past number of years where there will be no need of a tiebreaker game to determine the final playoff spots heading into Saturday.

First, lets start with our 1 vs. 2 page playoff game! It will be the number one seed heading into the event, and number one team through round robin play, the Robyn Silvernagle rink who will take on Team Sherry Anderson with a chance to head straight into Sunday’s final!

Silvernagle came off a dramatic 10th end victory this evening over Team Streifel to improve their record to 7-1, and lock up that top spot heading into the playoffs.

Also coming off a big win in their final round robin game was Anderson & team, where they have now made it four wins in a row looking to keep the ball rolling into playoff Saturday. Both teams met earlier in the week, where it was Silvernagle defeating Anderson 9-7.

Good Luck & Good Curling to both teams!

Streifel & Holland Meet in 3 vs. 4 Playoff Game

Holland & Streifel will look to keep the Viterra Scotties streak alive, as our past three provincial champions have come through either the tiebreak or 3 vs. 4 page playoff games!

Both teams came off tough losses in the final draw this evening, where they sit in a “do-or-die” situation when they hit the ice tomorrow afternoon.

Streifel came down to the wire in her final game against Silvernagle, where she ticked a guard on her final stone, attempting to remove Silvernagles counter in the four foot.

Holland, giving up an unfortunate steal of two late in the 8th end in her loss to Anderson, will look for a rebound and a bit of a different outcome against Streifel. Where Kristen & team defeated Holland in an extra end earlier in the day.

Good Luck & Good Curling to both teams as they are set to get underway tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.!
