1,200 School Kids Exposed to Curling at Home Hardware Canada Cup in Estevan!

School Kids “Rocked” Affinity Place

If you happened to take in some of the Home Hardware Canada Cup action from your television set, or “lived it live” at Affinity Place down in Estevan. You may have heard an extra buzz during the morning draws on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday!

It is always nice to see the future of curling taking in these large scaled events and learning more about the game of curling, and we were excited to assist the Estevan host committee in making this possible for their school children in the area.

The final number of school children that walked through the doors at Affinity Place estimated at about 1,200. Taking in snacks donated from Three Farmers, prizes from New Holland & some casual “selfies” from players after their games concluded were a few of the activities carried out. What better way to miss a bit of school..!!

We want to thank Curling Canada, Estevan Host Committee, the players & especially the school teachers for their cooperation on making this opportunity possible! We believe this is the future of curling and is one step on the possibilityof growing the youth programs in the Estevan area!
