Shots of the Week
Amazing event coverage throughout the week can be found on the numerous Junior Teams Facebook Pages, where they are live streaming their games for everyone to see! There have been some amazing shot making on both the men’s & women’s sides these past few days here at the Callie, below are a few that stood out for some teams:
- Team Carson Ackerman ~ The team looked to be giving up a steal of two and ultimately might have been the game after 8 ends of play, until skipper Carson Ackerman made an unbelievable angle run back to stick it for shot rock, counting one for his team and keeping the game alive. Unfortunately, Team Ackerman went on to lose the game with a final score of 8-5 to Team Mitchell Dales.
- Team Brecklin Gervais ~ Early in the game, Brecklin was looking at six Team Tokarz rocks surrounding the eight foot, until he made a pistol double take-out to limit the damage to only a steal of one to keep the game at 2-0. Team Tokarz went on to win the game 9-0 after 6 ends of play.
- Team Hanna Anderson ~ With a possible extra end on the line, Hanna Anderson stepped in the hack with her final stone in the 10th end and made an outstanding draw to a piece of the button to get her team their first win in Draw 1 against Weyburn’s Team Haupstein.
- Team Chaelynn Kitz ~ Team Kitz and Team Ackerman were all tied up coming home in Draw 1 where it was skip Chaelynn Kitz needing to make a pressure draw to grab a piece of the eight foot, where indeed she did to secure her team the 6-5 victory.
