Curling season is in full swing here in the Prairies, and we are super excited to have another amazing year full of curling!

Competition Events & Results

Saskatchewan Women’s Tour (SWCT) Bonspiel ~ Sept. 29 – Oct. 1, 2017
The first tour event of the season currently underway at the Regina Highland this weekend where 16 women’s teams compete for Sask Tour Points, that will lead into berths for the 2018 Viterra Scotties Provincial Championship early January in Melfort.

The1st Annual CURLSASK Hit, Draw & Tap Championshipwill take place this upcoming season throughout the province of Saskatchewan! It is an individual youth skills competition that allows a fun and enjoyable event that allows youth to compete against their peers! Curling I/O Registration System

CURLSASK, in conjunction with Curling Canada provides a Curling I/O on-line registration and payment system. Any team member can create the team in Curling I/O, but all team members must create a profile in Curling I/O! Visit the link below to create a Curling I/O account.

Registration for Curling Members
Please contact your curling club if the club is taking part in the Curling I/O Registration System, if so then registration will entail an online process. If not, then registration will be determined by the club manager.

Registration for CURLSASK Playdowns
All teams wishing to compete in CURLSASK playdowns, it is mandatory that you register your team through the Curling I/O System. Each player will need to create an online player profile (link provided below), the once member of each team will register the team as a whole. Links to register for CURLSASK competitions are also found on the designated Championship page on the CURLSASK website.

Curling Canada Helmet Recommendations

  • Helmets be mandatory for anyone under the age of 12
  • Helmets must be CSA-approved headgear
  • After Under-12, parents would sign waivers or, helmets are worn until the age of majority in that province/territory.
  • Curling Canada strongly recommends that anyone in a Learn-To-Curl program (adults or juniors) wears protective headgear.
  • Curling Canada strongly recommends that anyone who is vulnerable (related to experience, medical, etc.) wear protective headgear on ice or, sign waivers if choosing not to wear protective headgear.

Curling Canada will work to develop an ongoing concussion awareness education program that can be circulated to through our Member Associations to their affiliated clubs on a regular basis (one-two times/year or as needed)

Mixed Doubles Competition at 2017 Junior Provincial Championships

We are excited to announce that their will be a Mixed Doubles Competition in place at this years Junior Men’s & Women’s Provincial Championship. Curling Canada has implemented a system that includes a Mixed Doubles Competition during the championship round of the Canadian U18 & Junior Curling Championships, which allows teams to still participate with being eliminated from the competition.

This Mixed Doubles Competition will take place at this years provincial at the Regina Callie Curling Club, and will be comprised of teams from the men’s & women’s categories that have been eliminated from the provincial championship.More details will be provided to teams as they qualify for the provincial championship.

CKRM 8-Ender Competition

CKRM had developed a competition for this upcoming curling season that involves your team scoring an 8-Ender in your league/bonspiel play. If your team scores an 8-Ender this season, please notify the CURLSASK by filling out our 8-Ender form and emailing or faxing it to the office. You will then be entered as a team into a draw to have the chance to play a game on the arena ice at the Tim Hortons Brier prior to the event!!

The 2018 Saskatchewan Winter Games (SWG) in North Battleford are quickly approaching, with the Games taking placeFebruary 18-24! Junior “Outside the Box” Mentorship Program

Any U21 teams in both the Tier 1 & Tier 2 High Performance Programs are eligible to take part in the Out of Province Mentorship Program called “Outside the Box”. A wonderful program for teams to take advantage of numerous curling resources outside of Saskatchewan! Please contact Pat Simmons atpat.simmons@curlsask.cato book a session.

High Performance Practice Ice Ends Sept. 30!

A friendly reminder to all High Performance teams that the end of September will mark the end of practice ice being covered with the High Performance Program at both the Saskatoon CN & Regina Highland Curling clubs. A huge thank you to the clubs for providing these opportunities for teams and for all the teams that put it to good use!
