CURLSASK Announces NewDirector of High Performance

REGINA, April 28th, 2017

Ashley Howard, Executive Director of CURLSASK is pleased to announce the hiring of Pat Simmons as the Director of High Performance.Pat will assume the position effective September 1, 2017.

Pat is a two-time Brier Champion with 9 Brier appearances, 2 World appearances, 2 Grand Slam Victories, and has competed at the highest levels of curling, honing his craft among the best in the world.

As a player, he is constantly striving for improvement in all areas of the game – from strategy to team dynamics, nutrition to biomechanics, psychology, practice, and maybe most important – all the little intangibles of high performance curling.

Pat brings a wealth of both knowledge and experience to his position which will benefitCURLSASK, Member Curling Clubs and our Athletes. Pat will be tasked with the leading the CURLSASK High Performance Program and Provincial Champions Program. His mandate is to develop a Saskatchewan High Performance Training Centre and prepare our high performance athletes for their appearances on the national and international stages.

In addition, Pat willprovide performance consultingservices and lead the Saskatchewan Winter Games training group.

I look forward to helping everyone involved with CURLSASK including membership, coaches and staff, and financial partners to build towards a tradition of excellence in the sport of curling in Saskatchewan”, said Pat.
