Laycock Clinches Spot in 1vs2 Page Playoff Game
It was Team Steve Laycock out of the Saskatoon Nutana who battled it out with Team Adam Casey of the Regina Highland in our A Event Final game earlier this afternoon. This one came down to an extra end thriller that left the crowd sitting on the edge of their seats. Laycock forced to draw full four foot and even a piece of the button for his single in the extra end was all Casey would give him, and Laycock did what he had to to grab the win and a spot in the 1vs2 Page Playoff Game Saturday evening. Team Jason Jacobson, strung together two wins earlier in the day Friday against Brad Heidt (8-4) and a last rock thriller to Bruce Korte (7-6). He then met up with Casey in the B semi final and lost 8-5, dropping his team down into the C Event.

Hartung vs. Casey in B-Event Final
Great action in the B-Event semi finals tonight as we had Casey defeat Jacobson in our first semi game. Over on the other side of the arena, our second semi was taking place with Kody Hartung taking on Brent Gedak. Gedak played a great end in the eighth picking up his deuce and making a clutch draw in ten to take this one to an extra end. In the 11th end it was the lead Kelly Knapp stealing the show for a bit by playing two perfect tick shots to clear the center line and have Team Hartung start ripping guards and leaving a path for Kody to make an open nose hit for the win with a final score of 7-6.
Ackerman & Korte Rolling Along in C-Event
Team Jason Ackerman of Regina dropped their first two games here in Tisdale earlier in the week. But now find themselves rolling along just nicely after a two-win day on Friday. His first game against Bryden saw Ackerman having to make a soft difficult double to win the game, which he makes perfectly eliminating Bryden from contention. Then back on the ice at 4 p.m. facing off against Team Dale Craig of Saskatoon, where this one went all the way to an 11th end where Ackerman has to play a tight tap back around a center line guard. Where it ticks both the guard and the shot rock, leaving his shooter biting the edge of the twelve foot for the extra end win. Team Bruce Korte looking to get on a little streak here after coming off a big win tonight against Drew Heidt, where Korte had to make an in-off off his own stone to count two leading to a final score of 4-3.
