Many Teams Still in the Playoff Hunt as Two Draws Remain at Viterra Scotties

Anderson & Eberle Even at 2-4 with “Flip-Flop” Days

Sherry Anderson and her young squad came out firing in today’s games winning both of their matches. They scored a combined 17 points in the two games, where they faced Mandy Selzer and Kim Schneider. On the other hand, Chantelle Eberle dropped her two games today against Stefanie Lawton and Penny Barker bringing her evenwith Anderson at 2-4. Anderson and Eberle will battle in the final draw tomorrow evening which may have serious playoff implications, as four loss teams still are mathematically able to make the playoffs, dependent on the outcome of tomorrows draws!

Lawton & Silvernagle 5-1 After Draw 7

Silvernagle came out on the losing end for the first time this week in this afternoons draw to Nancy Martin, where Martin’s steal of two in the 6th end was the deciding factor that lead to a 5-3 victory. But Silvernagle bounced back nicely in this evenings drawwhere she saw herself down one coming home with hammer, and having to make a delicate tap back to bring her second counter into play to pick up the 7-6 win over Mandy Selzer. Lawton (with the bye in the evening draw), won her afternoon game against Eberle 8-3. Lawton and Silvernagleboth face off in the final draw tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m., which could potentially determine first place heading into playoffs.

Barber & Barker Improve Records with Crucial Wins

Brett Barber of Biggar picked up an extra end victory against Nancy Martin this evening. Barber had a chance to win it in the 10th and final end with a draw to the four foot where she ended up a little wide and heavy setting up the steal for Martin and the extra. Barber came right back with the same draw on the same side of the sheet needing a piece of the four foot, and she did just that giving herself the win and improving her record to 4-2. Barker having played in both draws today, losta close back and forth battle with Kim Schneider, who picks up her first win at the Viterra Scotties this week. But when Barker stepped on the ice this evening against Eberle, she ended up counting a huge score of four after a nice hit and roll to go up 7-4, eventually running Eberle out of rocks in the 10th. Barker now sitsin the middle of the pack with a 3-3 record.
