2017 Canadian Junior Curling Championships Begin Tomorrow in Victoria, BC!
Sask Teams Ready to Battle With Best in the Country
We have seen many great names within the curling world who have competed in this excellent showcase of young talent in our sport. The 2017 Canadian Junior Curling Championships will be held at the Archie Browns Sports Centre in Esquimalt, B.C. (suburb of Victoria) Jan.21-29. The junior men’s and women’s team that finish on top at the end of the week will represent Canada at the World Junior Curling Championships which are to be played in Pyeongchang, South Korea Feb.16-26, 2017.



Saskatchewan Junior Women
The Saskatchewan Junior Women’s team out of the Regina Callie Curling Club will begin their journey in Victoria this upcoming Saturday with their first game getting underway 6:30 p.m. local time against Team Prince Edward Island. Other teams that will be joining the girls in pool play is last years National & World Champions in Team Nova Scotia, Manitoba,Alberta (former SK Jr. Champion Kristen Streifel), Newfoundland & Labrador, and the Northwest Territories. The top four teams in each pool will move into the Championship Pool ranking system, which will then determine the placing for Championship weekend.

Saskatchewan Junior Men
The Saskatchewan Junior Men will begin their competition play Saturday at 1:30 p.m. local time against Team Nova Scotia. Other provinces that will be joining the boys during pool play are Northern Ontario (last years national finalists), British Columbia (Youth Winter Olympic Champions), Ontario, Yukon, & Nunavut. Again the top four teams will move into the Championship Pool, which then will determine placement for championship weekend.
