Fourteen Clubs Awarded Celebration Grants
In preparation for the upcoming Curling Day in Saskatchewan on Wednesday, January 27th, CURLSASK offered clubs the opportunity to apply for a grant to assist with a club’s celebration plans.
The response to the program to celebrate Saskatchewan’s Official Sport was staggering considering the short turn around time provided just before the holiday season. A total of twenty eight clubs sent in their plans and fourteen of those were selected. Some very tough decisions were made but clubs that applied early received the highest priority when the selections had to be made. All club grant requests were scaled back a bit in order to provide a few more clubs some funds.
A total of $2,325 in funds will be distributed to the following CURLSASK clubs:
Estevan, Unity, Bengough, Debden, Martensville, Moosomin, Maryfield, Fort Qu’Appelle, Sutherland, Wawota, Lakeland, Piapot, Frontier and Livelong Curling Clubs.
The Participation and Development Committee consisting of CURLSASK Vice President Patricia Yeske, CURLSASK Board Member Christy Walker and CURLSASK Staff Member Susan Lang wish to thank all curling clubs for their applications and hope that clubs will celebrate our great sport anyway.
Have a terrific Curling Day in Saskatchewan!
