CURLSASK STRIVING TO DEVELOP YOUNG CURLERS
November is a time of year when nearly every curling club in Saskatchewan either has their ice in or are very close to starting their seasons. So important to the future of the game and a local curling club is providing opportunities for young curlers to learn solid techniques, team play and strategy. CURLSASK clinics let players get together and work on learning or improving their game.
Through the generous support of Viterra, more clubs are taking advantage of having certified instructors come in to their club and work with the youth and the local instructors. It is a two-way street as there are many experienced club instructors who have valuable tips and insight that the CURLSASK instructors are always learning something new also!
Upcoming clinics in November and December are in Maple Creek, Moosomin, Wadena, Estevan, Foam Lake, Grenfell, Muenster and Herbert. These are in addition to the Regina and Moose Jaw clinics that were held earlier in the season. Check out the Programs Youth Page to find a clinic nearby. Better yet, encourage your club to contact CURLSASK to arrange for a clinic at your club.
CURLSASK provides adult clinics also as many people are getting back into the sport or wish to improve their game. Foam Lake and Maple Creek are two clubs who have requested this service.
Clinics can range from a 2 hour on-ice throwing and sweeping session all the way through to a 14 hour two day curling camp with lots of on-ice and off-ice learning components. Contact Susan at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
