Early Ice Access Now Included
CURLSASK is excited to announce new and exciting changes for its long standing High Performance program. This program is designed to create an environment to guide and nurture present and future athletes/teams to strive toward podium results at National and International competitions.
A partnership with the Nutana Curling Club in Saskatoon has provided the opportunity to allow the high performance coaching program to start three weeks earlier than in the past. Teams will be able to access ice beginning Friday, September 11, 2015 and continuing as ice is available until Oct. 31, 2015 This development will permit teams selected for the HP Program to fine tune their skills closer to home and earlier in the season. Program teams will have a minimum of 4-1 hour on ice sessions with the option to work with a CURLSASK HP Consultant and be able to book ice up to 24 hours ahead of their selected times. Along with the September access, these athletes will be able to work with CURLSASK High Performance consultants and sport science specialists throughout the curling season.
In the past CTRS points were used to select teams but this season selection is based on curler past performances as listed on the application form. Details of the Program and the Application Form are found on the CURLSASK High Performance Program page. Deadline for applications is May 10, 2015.
After the training teams have selected their on-ice times, the Nutana will take bookings for all other teams or individuals.
