Brier Report #1 from Gerry Adam:
Friday Feb. 27/15
Hi to everybody back in Saskatchewan, I am the 5th for team Saskatchewan and my name is Lana Vey……Ooops that was last week, I am Gerry Adam and I will be your co-spokesman along with you this week.
Very long first day here in Calgary. Up early for first practice of the day, Team seemed to adapt to the conditions fairly well and were comfortable with ice conditions. The Saddle Dome is very very BIG.
After a very successful practice we had a quick turn around for the Ford Hot Shots. Dallan started off with a perfect 25 through the first 5 shots and had a chance for a first every perfect score. He narrowly missed the double but still got him into the top 8 for tomorrow. Next up was second man Colton. He continued on and made the last shot double to get him into the top 8 as well. Kirk (last years champ) came out shooting well and topped the boys with a cool 26. Lastly the skipper Steve started off slowly but came on at the end and narrowly missed the playoffs with a 24.
Next we were off to the Banquet at the BMO Centre. It was a great event, Quick and the food was fantastic. Speeches were short and sweet and we were in and out in a couple hours. We then moved off to the patch (The Big Four) for team introductions. Everything went as planned.
Gotta hit the hay early tonight and rest up for the hotshots finals tomorrow. Opening ceremonies are on tomorrow and opening game tomorrow is at 130 against team Newfoundland (Team Gushue) and evening draw against Team Manitoba (Team Carruthers) at 6:30 on Tsn 3 and 5. Cheer hard and will talk to you tomorrow night!!
