Team Tisdale just missed playoffs so this is the final blog. Thanks so much to Brandi for the effort to give us all a glimpse into this amazing national championship.
“I apologize for the day late blog, but I didn’t get back to the room until 5 am this morning and thought I better get a few Z’s before the High Performance clinic this morning.
Yesterday was a tough one. There were only two ways we could have been able to make it into a tie-breaker position. We needed Ontario/PEI to either win both of their games or lose both of their games and us to beat Quebec. We did our job and beat Quebec, but unfortunately, Ontario/PEI did not pull through for us on their end and both went 1 and 1. Therefore, both teams now owe Team Sask drinks.
Before our game however, the Team and full entourage made a trip out to Peggy’s Cove and the memorial site for the Swiss Air Crash. Both sites were breathtaking. If only it wasn’t raining and cold, it may have been a little nicer of an experience, but all in all, definitely a place everyone should see once in their life. Another item has been crossed off my bucket list.
As I am a little out of order for the day of events, for those that know me I am putting on my signal light as I am changing lanes, after the game yesterday, as disappointing as it may have been, it was out of our control. We showed up and played our hearts out. To our entourage, all our newly made friends and fans and to everyone reading this from home who has supported us throughout, Team Saskatchewan (Team Tisdale) would like to thank each and everyone of you from the bottom of our hearts. Without your support none of this would have been possible. So a big THANK YOU!!!
Bonus to not playing in the tie-breaker/semi-finals, the hospitality room. A chance to laugh, dance and sing with our new friends from all over the country. And hence, the very late night/early morning this morning.
The memories which have been made this past week are memories that can never be taken away. This has truly been an experience we will never forget. Today we will be at the rink cheering on Team Saskatchewan (men) in the semi-finals. They will make us proud and represent!! Good luck boys!!
I likely will not have another post for you all, so until the next time, thanks for reading and thanks again for you support.
