Twelve teams started the championship on Wednesday afternoon at the 2014 Viterra Scotties and after round robin play eight of them are still alive in the playoffs. Stefanie Lawton and Michelle Englot lead the pack as both teams won their respective pools outright earning a spot in the A1-B1 game Sunday morning at 9:00AM. The winner of that game will advance directly to the Championship Final at 5:00PM while the loser will play in the semi-final at 1:00PM.
For the other six teams the road will be a lot longer to get to the championship game. Two sets of tie breakers are required to determine the second place finishers in both pools. The first round of tie breakers start at 2:00 PM with defending champion Jill Shumay playing Amber Holland. The winner of that game goes on to play Trish Paulsen at 7:00PM. In the other 2:00 PM tiebreaker, Mandy Selzer plays TeeJay Haichert while Chantelle Eberle waits for that winner. The survivors of the 7:00 PM games this evening will meet at 9:00 AM Sunday morning with that winner advancing to the semi-final at 1:00 PM.
