Ten Saskatchewan men’s teams start play Friday afternoon in the White’s Drug Curling Classic in Swan River, Manitoba. Included in the field is the Brock Virtue team who was the 2013 Saskatchewan Brier representative. Presently they are one of the strongest teams in the country as they have been red hot on the WCT circuit. In the past few weeks they have found success reaching a semi-final, a final and then capping off an excellent weekend in Red Deer with the bonspiel championship. Virtue’s team is presently 10th on the World Curling Tour Money List with $25,000 earned this season.
Randy Bryden’s team is also coming off a WCT Tour win this season after capturing the Medicine Hat Spiel last month. They are currently 26th on the Money List with $10,000 in prize money.
Other Saskatchewan teams include Jeff Hartung, Brad Heidt, Josh Heidt, Jason Jacobson, Joel Jordison, Bruce Korte, Kevin Marsh and Terry Marteniuk. Results may be found the World Curling Tour site.
